چکیده

Background: Supracondylar humeral fracture is probably the most common elbow in children requiring surgical intervention. We observed a subtype of pediatric supracondylar with sideward translation, without substantial displacement sagittal plane on initial radiographs. The purpose this study was to calculate incidence and suggest modification standard operative technique, achieve desired alignment fixation. Methods: reviewed clinical records radiographs all patients fractures surgically treated our institution between years 2006 2014. types, fixation configuration any complications were recorded. Results: Overall, 263 consecutive included. humerus solely 6%. characterized clinically radiographically. proposed technique for successful closed reduction percutaneous pinning. Conclusions: Special attention subtype, including appropriate operating room setup application suitable pinning has potential results avoid need open reduction.

Supracondylar Fracture of the Humerus

Supracondytar fractures of the humerus are common in childhood, and in less developed countries many late malunions are seen. A restricted range of elbow movement often makes it difficult to measure varus-valgus deformity clinically. This can be assessed from bony points but may be hindered by chronic swelling around the elbow. In these cases the pronation-supination range of the forearm is alm...

Management of pediatric open supracondylar humerus fracture using external

Open supracondylar fractures of the humerus are rare in children, and the treatment strategy for these fractures is yet to be standardized. We present the case of an 8-year-old boy with open supracondylar humerus fracture that was managed with an external wrist fixator. A good clinical outcome was achieved in this case, without the development of any complications over a 6-month follow-up period.

Supracondylar Fracture of the Humerus in Children.

Seventy-eight supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children were reviewed to compare four kinds of treatment: closed reduction and immobilization in a cast or splint, overhead skeletal traction, side-arm skeletal traction, and Dunlop's skin traction. The skeletal traction device usually used was a winged screw of our own design. The arms treated in overhead traction had significantly less ...

Pediatric supracondylar fractures of the distal humerus

Supracondylar fractures of the humerus are a common pediatric elbow injury that are historically associated with morbidity due to malunion, neurovascular complications, and compartment syndrome. True anteroposterior and lateral radiographs are essential not only for an accurate diagnosis, but also for creating a treatment plan for these injuries. A staging system (based on the lateral radiograp...

Postoperative brachial artery entrapment associated with pediatric supracondylar fracture of the humerus: a case report

BACKGROUND Severely displaced supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children are frequently associated with complications including neurovascular injuries, non-union, or compartment syndrome. In the current literature, no report exists about postoperative brachial artery entrapment in combination with an inconspicuous preoperative neurovascular examination. CASE PRESENTATION We present a ...
